What are the SEO in 2019 changes?
Over the years, SEO has gotten more and more complicated with every Google Update. This has led to digital marketing professionals looking for new and innovative ideas to rank their content on google.
Some of the changes for SEO in 2019 are :
- Blogging
Every digital marketing professional has one ‘go to activity’ in digital marketing to better rank his content and that’s Blogging. But over time the abundance of blog content online has made it extremely competitive for individual content to rank higher on search engines. Blogging in 2019 will get even more competitive in terms of SERP as quality content will dominate the first pages on search engines.
Many in the industry fail to use this tool given by GOOGLE to rank the website higher on GOOGLE, sounds ridiculous, right? Google Search Console gives a website owner valuable information about his/her website likes broken links, website responsiveness, content optimization. Usually, a website owner makes use of a third-party application for a monthly subscription to get this information, when he/she could just use the search console and get it for free.
- SSL
Google is planning to double down on the website which do not have a SSL certificate by ranking them lower on SERP. So, if you want to rank on GOOGLE then your website must have a domain validated SSL certificate. If you have transactions on the website then an Organization Validated SSL certificate would be the right choice.
- Voice Search
There will be a big push for voice search in 2019 as the data from 2018 shows that there has been a growing trend in voice search. The major volume of this search will not happen on mobile rather it will be on products like Google Home due to its growing popularity. These devices will search online for relevant information requested by the user. Professionals from the digital marketing industry might argue that Voice Search is killing SEO but it is on the contrary. Search engine optimization is necessary regardless the search happening on mobile or a home AI product like Google home.
A portion of the searches happening on Google are on Google Maps. If you haven’t listed your business then you are missing out on a sizable chunk of the search volume on google. If you have listed your business then you have to ensure that the data on the listing like phone number, working hours etc, are accurate. If the information on the listing is inaccurate then google will start ranking it lower than other businesses to increase relevancy in the searches made.
